A Message from Pastor Jon
Dear Redeemer Family,
It is with a heavy, yet happy heart that I let you all know that as of 6:17pm today, Dr. John MacArthur has passed into glory.
I wrote about him a few years ago here and I’ll have more to say about this in the coming days.
For now, if your heart is heavy, pray for comfort for his family, wisdom for the many ministries he led for over 5 decades, and thank the Lord if He used Dr. MacArthur in your life.
In a world and in a church that is overflowing with fallen leaders, he stayed faithful to his wife, his kids, and to his Lord, and for that, I honor him. I pray the same will be said about me and about all of you.
For many of us, he was a guiding light, a clear and courageous mouthpiece for biblical truth in the midst of all the chaos and deception of our time. For that, I will miss him greatly.
Now that his light has gone out, now that he’s beholding the face of his Savior and receiving the reward for the stewardship he was entrusted with, I think he would want all of us to make sure that we give Jesus all the glory for any impact Dr. MacArthur’s ministry had on our lives.
Again, I’ll have more to say soon. For now, may God give us more Christians like Dr. MacArthur, full of grace and truth, in these dark days.
